All intentions are born from a desire for completeness. They are driven by either the ego or the Soul. The ego believes completeness is achieved through adding things to itself; the Soul believes it is achieved through the sharing of love. The ego’s beliefs are shaped by its sense of lack; the Soul’s beliefs are shaped by its sense of abundance. The ego’s intentions serve itself; the Soul’s intentions serve everyone. If the two were assigned an avatar on a video game, the ego might well be represented by Dastardly Dan and the Soul by Supergirl.

Since the ego creates for itself, it must create by itself. It does not collaborate with the Universe. Its creations are dependent on whatever the mind can produce. The mind is only as great as its conditioning and intellect. Its path is paved with biases and best guesses. Even when a mind is endowed with great intellect, the best it can hope to create is a testament to its intellect. Its creations are void of beauty and love because these are not concepts that the mechanical mind possesses. Thus, a person might create a financial empire, but it will feel like a hollow achievement without love invested in it. Love is the basis for the feeling of completeness.
The Soul, in contrast, is never alone in its creations. It is always supported by the Spirit. The Spirit that supports your Soul is the same Spirit that supports the whole Universe. In fact, the Spirit is the thread that connects everything in the Universe. Everything is tied to it. Pull at it, and you tug at the Universe itself. When the Soul creates, it succeeds in its attempt at completeness because it merges with the Universe to do so, much in the way a man and a woman merge together to create a child. It is an act of sharing, and the joy of the creation is shared as well. Only in sharing love can completeness be achieved.
