There is a higher level still in which we can co-create with the Spirit. While the Spirit can synchronize our intentions with the Universe to get us what we want, we actually get the most bang for our buck when we do not put too fine a point on it. We think we know what would make us happy, but usually our belief is just the tip of the iceberg. The Spirit knows the whole story. It knows us better than we know ourselves. When we formulate an intention, we get more mileage out of it if we allow the Spirit to elaborate on it. We can do this by first examining the basis for our desire. For instance, if I have a desire to live in a house with a fantastic view, I begin by examining why. Is it the house itself I desire or something that I think the house will give me? Maybe, I associate it with my need for serenity. If serenity is what I am ultimately after, then serenity is the intention I specify to the Spirit, not the house. The Spirit can now direct me to the best means for achieving serenity. The house may or may not play a part in the plan, but whatever does materialize in my life will be far better than anything I could imagine.
Trusting in the Spirit at this level produces the most amazing results, but it does require us to remain open to other possibilities. We need only to look back at what we thought would make us happy ten years ago to know that our dreams are a moving target. They change! The greatest adventure lies in allowing the Spirit to shape our world. We still need intentions to get the ball rolling, but remaining flexible in the form they will manifest is the key to their ultimate fulfillment. We trust in the Spirit to get us to where we want to go, or maybe someplace even better.
Whether we have very specific ideas about what would make us happy or whether we are open to the suggestions of the Spirit, happiness will manifest all the easier when we seek out the Spirits assistance. Of course, we can create without its help – we are natural creators after all – but we forego so many resources when we do. The Universe, including time and space, conspire to support our desires when we enlist the Spirit's help.
Because the Spirit is a part of us (we are spiritual beings), it is always with us. It guides us whether we seek its help formally, or just align with its nature, Oneness. Its nature is, in fact, our true nature. We actually have to go against our own nature to lose its guidance. This happens when we allow ourselves to be driven by the ego. In doing so, we, metaphorically, slam the door in its face. Luckily for us, it never walks away from the door when we do. It waits patiently for us to open it back up, which we do every time we open our hearts.
Welcome! You have just stumbled upon the current book I am writing. Yes, I know it looks like a blog, but with a little time and your helpful comments, it may be much more in the future. Please stick around and watch it grow.
